Microbes
”Every person is a collective, a vast and complex gathering of interdependent life. Any description of ‘human’ must acknowledge these intimate strangers. Our bond with microbes is such that they are not so much riders, parasites, and assistants as part human. And we, it’s becoming increasingly clear, may need to begin thinking of ourselves as part microbe.” ― Guy P. Harrison, At Least Know This: Essential Science to Enhance Your Life
The microbes we share our lives with, is something we have no control over. This inspired the proces of making the base of a material I cannot control. The shape takes form by itself as it grows during the curing proces. These organic shapes are covered with flameworked parts, wich give them a soft and organic appearance.
The idea behind the Microbes that they sit, alone or in a group, somewhere unexpected. Like the intimate strangers in your house.
Microbes can be custom made in a color! For more information, please contact Hababat Gallery.
